Trees for Life Oregon aims to shed light on the genesis of Portland's tree code and how we, the community, and some in City government would like to see it improved. These features provide a deeper dive into the history of Portland’s tree code; its current weak points as perceived by advocates, City bureau staff, and a now former City Commissioner; the impact of density and other laws on existing large trees and space for new ones; and a close look at how the code works in specific cases on the ground (for these, also click here).
